White House on Wednesday released a report, outlining the Framework for establishing the United States Space Force. The policy is named policy Directive-4 describes the formation and function of the USSF.
The United States hasn’t established any Military Branch since 1947. As the report cites the changing world and changing battlefield, it puts an emphasis on the formation of a space force as the sixth branch of the armed forces.
The report also cites criticality of the Space Force to prepare the Department of Defense for the ever-evolving war-fighting environments of the 21st century. And calls space as the 4th domain for warfare just like air, sea, and land.
