Berwick, Maine – After fighting a house fire in the town of Berwick in York County, Five Fire Fighters have been taken to the Wentworth-Douglass hospital in New Hampshire on Friday.
At around 11:00 am the fire was reported in a Multi-storied residential building. The Berwick’s police and fire departments were the first to respond and arrive at the scene. At that time Berwick fire departments didn’t know about the nature and severity of the fire and therefore it quickly grew 4-alarm fire. This prompted Berwick FD to call for back units from neighbouring towns of Maine and New Hampshire.

A total of 50-70 firefighters from 12 Maine and New Hampshire departments along with 5 EMS teams responded to the scene. While clear the building two firefighter got trapped and had to be pulled out from the building, Officials told WMTW.
There is no information about the status of the firefighters that are being treated. Hospital officials have denied making any comment and said that they cannot tell us about the status and injuries of the firefighters.
