Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: An Ethiopian Airlines 737 flight ET 302/10 going from Addis Ababa to Kenya’s capital, Nairobi crashed on Sunday. The Flight was carrying 149 passengers and 8 crew members and they are all confirmed dead.
The flight took-off from Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa and was en route to Nairobi. The flight took-off at 08:38 am local time but few minutes after taking-off it lost contact with the Air Traffic Control.
Local Police and Emergency services were sent to the scene where it was confirmed that the Ethiopian Airlines 737 had crashed. The flight went down near Bishoftu just 50 kilometres away from the Ethiopian capital.
Although the state-run Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) has confirmed that all crew and passengers were killed, the Ethiopian Airlines has yet to put out an official statement about the number of casualties.
The Office Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed also showed respect and condolences to families of those who lost their loved ones on the accident. They tweeted “The Office of the PM, on behalf of the Government and people of Ethiopia, would like to express it’s deepest condolences to the families of those that have lost their loved ones on Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 on regular scheduled flight to Nairobi, Kenya this morning.”

Boeing has also come and made a statement about the incident on Twitter. They said, “Boeing is aware of reports of an airplane accident and is closely monitoring the situation.”
