Seungri who is the member of BIGBANG, a popular K-Pop Band has made an announcement that he is going to leave the band and retire from the “show business”, he announced on Monday.
He made this announcement in light of recent sex and bribery allegations that were placed on Seungri and has made the news in whole South Korea.
Seungri on his Instagram account said, “I feel like it is best from me to retire from the entertainment business at this point,” and added, ” I will sincerely submit to the investigation on this matter, and reveal truth to all the allegations.”
Seungri who is 28 years old and his real name is Lee Seung-hyun has been charged with allegedly providing foreign investors with prostitutes which resulted in his agency’s shares, YG Entertainment Inc going down by 16%.
Lee is also being charged with alleged bribery and frequent drug use at Burning Sun.
After the charges were made public Lee announced that on March 25, he will be enlisting for his mandatory military service.
And in response to his announcement National Police Agency Commissioner General Min Gap-ryong made a comment that this investigation will not be hampered by Lee’s conscripted soldier status. and added that he would work towards cooperation from the Ministry of National Defense.
