PUBG Banned in Parts Of India, 10 People Arrested for Playing

Gujarat, India: On March 6 the Rajkot district of Gujarat, India have issued a ban on the Popular Mobile Battle Royale game Player Unknown’s Battle Ground or PUBG Mobile. And in this ban, at least 10 people have been arrested for playing PUBG in public.

The Rajkot Police came out with a statement that they have arrested at least 10 people for playing PUBG Mobile in public.

Police Commissioner Manoj Agrawal said, “People have been booked but there is nothing like an arrest in it.”

He also added, “In the procedure, they will be shown as immediately bailed out by police. The case will go to the courts and there will be a trial for not following the notification issued.”

But this ban is not only restricted to Rajkot district as multiple other districts have also reportedly banned PUBG Mobile in Pubg.

The reason Authorities and Court have cited is that PUBG Mobile is very engrossing and addictive. This has caused multiple people many students to falter from their academics. This has also caused many health issues in children, Authorities said.

There are other instances of games getting banned in India due to their content. One such example was Fallout 4 which featured a 2 head cow named ‘Brahmin’. In India, Cows are revered as holy animals and therefore due to this Fallout 4 was banned in India.

PUBG Mobile is a Mobile version of the popular online battle royale game of the same name. It was released in 2018 and since then it has become one the most popular mobile game with over 400 million players.
