America’s Nathan Chen made his edge over Japan’s two time Olympics champion, Yuzuru Hanyu.
Nathan Chen left his mark as he became the men’s champion at World Figure Skating Championship. Yuzuru Hanyu had to make peace with runners up position because Nathan Chen made history repeat itself.
Nathen Chen performed aesthetic freestyle ice skating on Saturday and won the gold title for same. Chen set a benchmark with zero flaws and ended up at 323.42 points. With his excellent skills, he went on solidifying his leads and finally reached the peak! While Canadian duo- Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje marked fifth.
Weaver said, ”We felt so free and calm and that’s exactly the place we wanted to perform in this program, This program is more than about the levels and the score.”
They said, “We’ve been in the top-five for a long time.” They ended up at 205.62 points and also said that this program is more than scores and levels.
The tournament witnessed amazing crowd and extraordinary skaters from across the world. American Vincent Zhou stood third with 281.16 points. Sorensen who ended up at tenth position said, “We felt good, everything we’ve been working on came together quite well and it’s nice to do a clean skate you can be proud of.” This flawless art of ice skating was witnessed at Saitama in Japan.
