Seungri had posted a photo on Instagram in a police uniform on November 25th, 2014. He recently deleted that photo. The netizens suspect that Seungri did this to hide his ties to the police and they even speculate that the uniform belongs to Superintendent Yoon.
Seungri, K-pop BIGBANG member retires in-light of sex and bribery allegation
On March 23, Seungri claimed to have rented the uniform for Halloween from a costume rental shop called Gagsital. With the help of an employee at Gagsital, the police investigated this case further.
The police questioned the employee about whether Seungri had been rented the police uniform from their shop.
The employee responded: “We completed police investigations on March 25. They asked if we violated the ‘regulations on police uniforms and police equipment’. You cannot rent special uniforms like police uniforms without submitting documents. The police uniform Seungri wore had a name tag. Name tags are not part of the costume rental. The photo that exists on our web page was taken in 2008. We do not offer it currently.
” On March 25, a report to the Sports Kyunghyang, stated that Seungri’s argument was correct and also sent a screenshot that showed a superintendent uniform and insignia in the process of being rented.
In response to the screenshot, the employee stated that:
“The police uniform is not one that is rented out often so we have not specialized the purchasing process. It’s the same as other rental purchases. But we cannot send the special uniforms through parcel service and customers must submit an ID card, a scenario for dramas/films or a telescript for advertisements before we can lend them out. The purchaser (in the screenshot) has not made a deposit. They are wrong in that you can rent/purchase a police uniform through mobile.”
The employee also said that they do not lend police uniforms even if celebrity visits. The employee further told the police that if Seungri’s claim is true, then he should be able to show a card payment or a bank transfer statement.
