Troop Beverly Hills has it’s 30th Film Anniversary

Back in the late 1980s came an adventure comedy film, a worth million rewatches(and then some), a movie many felt was pure comedy in its own subtle way, one highly accepted by people but poorly received by critics, produced by Weintraub Entertainment Group and directed by Jeff Kanew, starring Shelley Long, Craig T. Nelson, Betty Thomas, Marry Gross, Stephanie Beacham and introducing Jenny Lewis as Hannah Nefler, with a bunch young stars. This year movie marks its 30th anniversary(is still a thrill!) and still many things are worth walking down the memory lane like its 80s tastic outfits, flawless one-liners- very much quotable to the real-life situations, not dumber but smarter young characters, an unforgettable glamour and many more.
The reunion of the cast 30 years after the comedy premiered in theatres for an Entertainment Tonight Special is set to air on Tuesday night. Long 69, said, hugging Thomas who played her nemesis Velda Plendor in the film that she is so proud of the girls of what they did 30 years back, it was because of the girls why she did the movie. The cast was having the same fun they had 30 years back while reciting the classic chant from the film, “We’re the girls from Beverly Hills, shopping is our greatest skill! We will fight and try real hard, leave behind our credit card”.
Carla Gugino spoke about the impact movie made on her life, which was supposed to be her first job, which further allowed her to make enough money to support her. Since it was the reunion obviously many secrets had to come out, one of them was, the lie which actress later on admitted during the shoot, Carla during the auditions lied about her age, that’s when IMDb didn’t exist, for the role they needed a girl aged 14 and the actress said she was 14 to get the job.
