Mary Kay Letourneau (57) & Vili Fualaau (35) the controversial couple are finally ‘calling it quits’ after their 14 years of marriage.
In 1997, Mary Kay Letourneau caught the attention of the whole country when it found she is having a sexual relationship with one of her student, Vili Fualaau who was only 12 years old at that time.
She was charged with child rape and was sentenced 7 years in prison and was registered as a sex offender in Washington state for her relationship Fualaau.
However, Letourneau became pregnant twice with Fualaau children before he was 15 years old and later when Letourneau completed her sentence they got married.
After getting married 2005 both of them settled down in King County, Washington where they raised their two daughters, Georgia and Audrey.
However, in the latest report by PEOPLE, the couple is finally ending their 14-year long relationship after both of them filed for divorce.
In an interview with PEOPLE, a source said, “They really gave it the old college try, they have a long history with two kids, but it really seems to have run its course. They worked really hard to fix things, but it still fell apart.”
The Source added, “The reconciliation just didn’t work. …They still love each other very much. They’re family and always will be. It just isn’t working, and they’re going to have to call it.”
But Even though it looks like they are finally separating good, this is not the first time they have filed for separation.
They had also previously filed for separation in May 2017 but the couple didn’t complete their divorce and tried to “give their relationship another chance.”
