Osceola, AR: Following a gunfire incident at the Prescott High School in Osceola, one student was immediately sent to the hospital and police have arrested one suspect.
The incident occurred on Monday morning when one PHS student brought a concealed handgun and shot another PHS student on the school campus, Prescott School District’s Facebook page said.
Authorities were immediately called to the school following the gunfire and the student who was shot was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment.
Due to this incident, PHS was dismissed at 10:30 today and All Prescott athletic events were cancelled as well.
Chief Beavers said in a statement that the school campus is now secured as they have captured the suspect who was involved in the shooting.
There is no report on the student who was injured in the incident.
