6 people including 2 children were injured in a shooting at a baby shower on South Side, Chicago on Saturday Morning.

The incident occurred at around 11:00 a.m when two gunmen in dark clothing entered a baby shower at 6300 BLK of S. Seeley and opened fired. In the shooting, 6 people were injured including a 10-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy along with a 23-year-old man and a 28-year-old man.
Both the men were taken to the  Holy Cross Hospital and police have reported that their condition is now stabilized. The 28-year-old man was later transferred to the Mount Sinai Hospital.
A 29-year-old woman and 42-year-old man were also shot. They were taken to the Christ Medical Center. Their status is unknown at the moment.
Chief Communications Officer Anthony Guglielmi made a statement on the twitter saying, “Prayers are with the victims from this despicable shooting.” “Cooperation has been very limited with detectives and based on victim profiles,” However, “we suspect this could have been a possible retaliatory shooting from an earlier incident that stemmed from an ongoing gang conflict in that neighborhood,” Officer Guglielmi added.

After shooting at the venue both the gunman fled on foot.
Chicago PD has not made any more information available to the public.
