Chicago, Illinois: Authorities have given all clear to Batavia High School after someone made reports that a Man with Rifle has entered the school building.

The incident occurred at around 6:40 a.m. when a report was made that male subject with a rifle was seen entering the Batavia High School building.

After the report was made deputies from Kane County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call immediately and surrounded the school building.

People were by the Batavia city officials that they should not approach Batavia High School and stay away until further notice.

Police had been trying to clear the building for several hours. They were trying to find the suspected man with a rifle.
However, it was later confirmed by authorities and Batavia PD that someone made a false armed man reports to the police.
Batavia Public School District 101 reported that “A student entering BHS was carrying sports equipment which was mistaken for a weapon.”
