Google launched vacation rentals in mobile UI last month. Now mobile users have the option to book entire rooms. It is geared toward travellers who are looking to slow down and settle into a new location. The rentals also accommodate whole units, such as apartments, cabins, villas, and houses. The search feature has begun globally for mobile and will soon reach the desktop.
It should be noted that a few weeks ago Google revamped its hotel platform. It also redesigned the Maps that made finding hotels more smooth.
The tech giant has partnered with a handful of booking sites, including Expedia, HomeAway, Hotels.com, RedAwning, TripAdvisor and VRBO. Although, Airbnb appears absent from the list of booking partners.
A user can filter the results for price and amenities. He can also view reviews, rates, and
vacancies for each property. If he finds the perfect place he can then book it with a tap that will take him to the partner service offering that room.
This is not the first time Google has offered vacation rentals through its hotel booking platform, though it is the first time it has been so widespread. The company initially piloted the idea in 2017, offering only a limited number of rentals in select markets. This feature will positively boost Google Hotel Ads revenue.
