So, ‘The Act’ season 1 has finally winded up. Season 1 revolved around the murder of Dee Dee Blanchard. She was killed by her daughter Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Nicholas Godejohn. The show was a huge success for Hulu. There has not been any official announcement for season 2 yet. Nevertheless, it would be a no-brainer to expect the news to come anytime soon.
Then, what will be the season 2 storyline? There are two possibilities,
Showrunners can continue further with Gypsy Rose’s story
Season 1 of The Act was lightly focused on the respective trials of Gypsy Rose and Nicholas Godejohn. Season 2 can be expected to reveal more about it. Additionally, Gypsy Rose was eventually introduced to her father in the final episode of season 1.
Nothing more was shown of it. His reconciliation and support can play an essential role. The first season mainly focused on Gypsy Rose’s relationship with her mother, but her father was not mentioned anywhere. In real life, Rod Blanchard is very supportive and has backed Gypsy throughout her trial.
The second season can also focus more on Gypsy Rose by exploring how much her behaviour is similar to that of her mother. It could be an interesting angle to explore if they decide to focus deeply on Gypsy’s character.

The second possibility can be,
A completely new and unconventional original crime story
There isn’t any shortage of true crime stories in this world. Showrunners can pick any one of them for the next season of ‘The Act’. In this way, they can also use the current cast members, Patricia Arquette and Joey King, for casting into entirely new roles.
Both the lead cast performed their parts absolutely well. Viewers would definitely like to see them return and take on a new role in the upcoming season.
It would be too early to guess what might be the story they can pick for the next season. But, how could we stop ourselves from helping?
In our opinion, The Golden State Killer would be the perfect story. It has a clear conclusion to the story. The killer was finally arrested. He was detained decades after his last murder. This story also has plenty of interesting characters that can be portrayed fully.
A book I’ll Be Gone in The Dark has also been dedicated to this story. The book was penned by Michelle McNamara. She worked tirelessly to solve the mystery. The series can revolve around her and can be based on the book. The book was released posthumously and the killer was caught after Michelle’s death.
