Netflix’s psychological thriller series ‘You’ provided the perfect binge watch material to its viewers.
You is based on the novel (of the same name) by Caroline Kepnes. It follows Joe, a bookseller, whose philosophy in life seems to be that all good things come to those who wait. He is good at online stalking and commits occasional murder.
The series ended on a cliffhanger. Now, fans are eagerly waiting for season two. Although, the second season was announced even before the release of the first season.
However, no fixed release date for the next season has been announced yet by the official. Show’s Official Instagram page says that it is ‘coming soon’. Earlier, showrunner Sera Gamble confirmed that filming started in February 2019.
We will see Badgley return in his role. The next season will be set in LA, with a majority of new actors because of the season finale twist. Victoria Pedretti will be joining the main cast. She will be seen playing the role of Love Quinn. In an interview, Elizabeth Lail admitted that she is ‘sad to not continue that journey.’
Season one followed Joe who stalked and later dated Beck. Beck was an NYU graduate student and aspiring writer. Things between them get dark and eventually Beck and her friend Peach die. Unexpectedly, Joe’s ex-girlfriend Candace, who was presumed dead, pops up to Joe’s bookstore pretty much alive.
Season two will focus on Joe trying to escape his past by heading to LA. Showrunner Gamble teased, ‘If you look at every act of violence that Joe does in season one, that is potentially something that could come back and bite him.’
Peach Salinger’s family had hired people to investigate her alleged suicide. Joe is worried as evidence might be still there at her house from season one.
