The recent change in the homepage of Divinity: Original Sin’s developer Larian Studios has resulted in a new range of expectations for this year’s E3; speculations about one of the most important role play game of decade – Baldur’s Gate 3 surfaces.
While the original notion amongst the people was the impending release of Divinity: Original Sin 3, new signs now suggest that the studios might be working on Baldur’s Gate 3 and may plan to reveal more in E3 2019.
As soon as the new homepage design was spotted, a quite clever HTML snooping by Twitter user @kunkken revealed that the source code read as “BaldursGate_logo_III_retouched.png.” Now, this piece of information has resulted in a whole new level of guesswork and excitement amongst the fans.
Baldur’s Gate Series: How much do we know about this game?
Originally developed by BioWare for personal computers, the Series was critically acclaimed for using pausable real-time gameplay and was commercially successful. After its original last edition in 2001, several enhanced versions and remakes were made by Beamdog and Overhaul Games.
Rumors had heated up last year when it was said that Larian Studios had obtained the rights to the game though they were quick to deny. Hopefully, this year’s E3 clears all doubts.
Expectations this E3
E3 2019 has us on our toes with games like Marvel’s Avengers, Cyberpunk 2077 and Halo Infinite, the expected announcement of Baldur’s Gate 3 would be just a cherry on top. Baldur’s Gate series was a success and was widely acclaimed as one of the best role-playing video games. After the release of Baldur’s Gate III: The Black Hound was canceled way back in 2003, the new revelation by this homepage of Larian’s has yet started a new thread of thoughts and discussion which will only end after its hopeful announcement in E3.
