What had happened if Superman went rogue in his teenage after finding that he was superior to us? The same scenario is showcased in Brightburn, whose sequel is being rumored over the internet.
The movie is a 2019 American horror film based on the diversion from the superhero genre. With a budget of $6 million, the movie grossed over $24.8 million. It is a story of how an alien baby was adopted, and then he went rogue after finding his superpowers. He tried to kill his adoptive parents as well as create much havoc with his powers.
David Yarovesky, the director the Brightburn hinted in May 2019 that a sequel is possible as per the potential of the movie and the genre.
Rumors are that there is a possibility that we will see the dark versions of Aquaman as well as of Wonderwoman. This could kick start a franchise in which we will see dark sides of the superhero we admire. But the problem is the sequel to Brightburn is not confirmed yet.
Even if it is confirmed, it is difficult to say when the sequel will release. James Gunn, who announced the Brightburn as Untitled James Gunn Horror Project in December 2017 currently has a busy schedule. He is in working in pre-production of the sequel to the Suicide Squad and has plans for filming Guardian of the Galaxy Vol 3 as soon as possible.
From all these reports, it is safe to say that the movie won’t be released until early 2021.
