Producers confirmed the popular CW series, The Flash will be back for its sixth season, with many changes.
Before the completion of season five, the creators had already reassured fans that there would be another season which will be out during the last few months of 2019. Todd Helbing will be replaced by Eric Wallace as the showrunner, who was behind the success of the show.
“From his first day on The Flash, Todd Helbing has been a leader on the show, beloved by the cast and crew for his exceptional talent, vision and wonderful attitude. We are all sad to see him go, but we will all be better for the many shows he will no doubt create and run in the future,” The Flash executive producer Greg Berlanti.
Carlos Valdez who plays Cisco has left the show after the finale of season 5, which will cause a major change in the storyline. The story will focus on the ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’, which has been hinted at since the first season. The timeline aligns perfectly with the disappearance of the protagonist, Barry Allen.
Rumors are there will be a new suit for The Flash as there has been a change in every season, and this one will be no different. Godspeed plays a major role in how things will turn out for The Flash.
Reverse Flash will also play an important role in the upcoming season. The future of Barry and Iris will also take a major turn because of the plot that it is being focused on. In the DC Universe, a ‘crisis’ leads to the death of the character so fans should be prepared for the worst outcome.

The last two seasons left the fans disappointed and with mixed reactions, but hopefully with the story coming full circle, the creators will be able to give the avid watchers something to look forward to. With the plot of season 6, it is highly unlikely that there will be a season 7 unless the creators focus on an alternative timeline.
The show is most likely to air after the New York Comic Con which is in October. Although dates have not yet been confirmed, it will most likely air during that month.
