EA Play, EA’s presentation at E3 2019, the most significant event for video games. EA showcased their most-hyped upcoming game – Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, along with updates in released games such as Apex Legends, The Sims 4 and Anthem.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
The most anticipated game from EA releasing this year, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was showcased during EA Play. EA showed off 15 minutes of gameplay footage from the game, which follows the story of a Jedi, after Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine has taken power and formed an evil empire. He has a companion droid named BD-1 who follows him around in his adventures.
Apex Legends
Coming to the rising battleground game, Apex Legends, EA released a new weapon (called the L-STAR), and also revealed a Ranked Mode which will be coming in Season 2. But the biggest change coming to Apex Legends this year will be a new character – Wattson. They disclosed that she is an electrical engineer who places fences to defend her team.
This news caused a flutter among people online, who seemed excited about the new character.
Battlefield 5
EA revealed brand new maps for Battlefield 5, such as AI Sondan, Marita and Operation Underground, targeted at different types of players.
Chapter V of Battlefield V will also be a significant upgrade, featuring new weapons and vehicles specific to the storyline.
Fifa 20
The presentation for Fifa was focused on a new mode – Volta mode, which seems like a version of Fifa Street. The great thing about this mode is that it will be a part of the main game, as a separate mode. This will give players the choice to experience Street Football, with all customizations available, within the same game, instead of a separate game.
They also talked about a new free kick and penalty system. Now, players will have complete control on the spin of the ball, using the right analog stick.
The Sims 4
EA unveiled Island Living for Sims 4, which will be in an expansion pack. This will give players new wardrobe choices, and also the ability to go into the water, scuba dive and even make friends with the dolphins. The latest update will also have an active volcano.
The Sims 4 will also focus on an eco-friendly subject. If you litter the island, it will result in changes within the island, reflecting on the negative environmental changes.
Anthem
During EA Play, Anthem developer Bioware said that they would include players’ feedback, and the next update will make Anthem a much better game. EA accepted that they have “a lot of work to do” regarding the game, which received mostly negative reviews from players, despite having promising graphics and storyline during its initial reveal in 2017.
EA Play also featured updates coming to some other EA titles such as Madden NFL 2020. Although all these updates sound good, we will have to wait and see if they will be as good as they seem.
