This year you are going to witness yet another brand new superhero drama on your TV. But the thing is, this show wouldn’t be any kind of flicks that you have watched in the past. This is the whole new taste in the superhero genre. The Boys adapted from the comic book of the same name created by Garth Ennis and Darrick Robertson. Eric Kripke, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen serving as showrunner developed this never seen before superhero drama exclusively for Amazon Prime Video.
‘The Boys’ is the superhero drama in which the superhero is not actually the good guys. This show sets in a world hero where superhero exists but they are driven by the selfishness and dark pride about their powers and fame. The superheroes are involved in audacious activities threatening the safety of common people.
The superheroes espouse the darker side of their fame and do the perilous activities in the neighborhood. The story then follows a surreptitious group of CIA agents leads by Billy Butcher to bring down the outrageous and corrupted superheroes team The Seven. When the influential and god-like characters don’t do the greater good in the hood then it is obvious someone has to step up front to play dirty, whatever it takes.
Star Trek and Judge Dread actor Karl Urban play the lead role in series as Billy Butcher, the man who started a group to fight many powerful people than themselves. Jack Quaid plays as Hughie Campbell, Laz Alonso portrays as African-American man Mother’s Milk, Tomer Kapon plays as The Frenchman along with Karen Fukuhara portraying the Female both being the muscles of the team. Jennifer Esposito takes the role of CIA agent Susan L. Rayner and Elisabeth Shue are on the board to support the lead character along with Chace Crawford, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, and Nathan Mitchell.
The show premieres on Amazon Prime Video on July 26, 2019.
