It’s no secret that the world of video gaming is just as fierce in real life as it is on the screen. And now it’s down to the ultimate battle: which one will fans like more— Death Stranding or Cyberpunk 2077?

What’s In It?
Cyberpunk is a dystopian game set in Night City, California, where players play a mercenary, named V, a character that they get to customize from start, who has to take out some villains. Death Stranding meanwhile is more in-the-dark. What we do know, is that it’s unique. In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Kojima said, “The goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or “Strands” with other players around the globe.”
Where Do They Stand?
Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be the most anticipated release of the year right now. Viewers already love the trailer and the bright graphics, not to mention the amazing storyline.
Death Stranding does have some people intrigued with its thematic concept but it’s still pretty far behind in visuals. Certain people have described the game scenery as slightly bleak and flat-lined.
Behind the Battle
Why is Cyberpunk really winning?
A major reason why Cyberpunk is ahead in the polls is that it has the entire material of the Cyberpunk 2020 world to build upon. Death Stranding meanwhile, is kind of new and Kojima’s silence isn’t helping that much. Meanwhile, Hollywood sensation Keanu Reeve’s role in Cyberpunk has elevated the excitement to a whole new level, sending Twitter into a frenzy after his appearance at the E3 19. We’re guessing that the Walking Dead stars, Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen in Death Stranding doesn’t really beat that.
When Does This End?
Cyberpunk 2077 releases on 16th April 2020 and Death Stranding on 8th November 2019, so we’ll know for sure then. But no matter what the battle speaks, we all think that Death Stranding will definitely be interesting, even if it doesn’t come out on top. But then again, we never know— it may surprise us!
