Donald Glover, who also goes by the name Childish Gambino, is slated to release a new album. There have been no details about the upcoming album, yet. However, this might be Childish Gambino’s last foray into music. This album might be the latest released by the singer/actor.
According to Rolling Stone and the subsequent teasers, this album signifies the death of Gambino. This could mean two things. The collection signifies the end of the moniker Childish Gambino or the end of Donald Glover’s music career as Gambino. Glover has left fans guessing.
However, Donald Glover and his team appear to be calm about this revelation. Glover’s manager, Fam Udeorji, recently spoke to Rolling Stone about this. “I don’t know if you want to hype a death up,” he explained. “It’s more so this chapter is over. We don’t have to be Game of Thrones and have Gambino ice cream.”
“There are just certain moments in your life, where because of the time it has real estate in your brain, and you know: This gives me a particular feeling from a particular time. When it came to the album, we were searching for that. How can you make a moment special when everybody gets everything so easily?” Udeorji continued on the “death of Childish Gambino.”
Donald Glover’s politically motivated hit This is America broke records last summer. His previous album, “Awaken, My Love!” was released in 2016. The album explored several burning issues of the American heartland. It explored the anxiety of living in America. The collection forayed into themes of capitalism and the relationship of black people with capitalism.
Donald Glover has remained tight-lipped about the upcoming album. His team behind many of his hits, Royalty, have not divulged any details, either. Fans, however, hope that this is not the last of Childish Gambino they might witness.
