Critically acclaimed dramedy series ‘Russian Doll’ is set to get a second season. Series co-creator and star Natasha Lyonne and Netflix VP of Content, Cindy Holland made the announcement at Recode’s Code Conference in Arizona on Tuesday. The announcement came when Holland asked if Lyonne wanted to do a second season.
In reply, Natasha said, “Same show, just weirder? Are you sure?” “Nadia Vulvokov is a coder, as you know, so I guess it would be somewhat appropriate to have maybe this be the time and place to say yes, very much so, I would love to do that, Cindy.” She added
The official Twitter handle for the show also dropped a video, confirming the renewal of the second season. Although Netflix hasn’t announced the release date or anything related to the plot. The announcement has triggered a polarizing response between fans and critics alike.

While some have professed their excitement over the renewal, some critics and fans have taken to the social media to voice their opinion about if the show should have a second season or not. As many, regarding the ending of the first season as nearly perfect. The series will have the same number of episodes as the first season.

She repeatedly dies at her 36th birthday party, only to restart from the same point again and again. As she struggles to comprehend what is happening to her at first, she sets out in search of answers.
After it hit the screen, Russian Doll has received some rave reviews. Season 1 currently holds a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes while Metacritic gave the series a score of 89 out of 100.
