Elder Scrolls, with its booming success and the upcoming most anticipated next installment, will unfortunately not be shown this E3 as reported by its developer Bethesda in its press conference.
The Elder Scrolls franchise has been a hit ever since it first released and the series took a turn for creating one of the greatest game fandoms after the launch of Skyrim. However, the makers announced that the sixth installment is not releasing anytime soon, much to the fans’ disappointment. But when the new part of the game does come up, it’ll stay as long as Skyrim did.
During the conference with IGN, Bethesda’s Todd Howard revealed that the game is designed and made in such a way that it will last as long as Skyrim did that is nearly a decade and people will continue playing it even after the game’s story line exhaustion.
“Anything we put it [Skyrim] out on, it becomes a hit game. And they love it, they still play it, it’s almost infinitely playable, all of the mods and everything like that. And we’re 8 years post-Skyrim. It lets us know going into Elder Scrolls 6 that this is a game we need to design for people to play for a decade at least, at least.”
Though he hasn’t revealed its release date, we can expect it to be after 2021 or its end. Explaining about the gap, Todd said, “When you eventually, eventually see the game and what we have in mind [you’ll] understand the gap more in terms of technology and what we want it to do.”
It has done nothing but made all fans wonder and sit tight in exciement. Not much is known about the Elder Scrolls 6 apart from few glimpses released during E3 2018 trailers by Bethesda.
Plus it shouldn’t be that much of a tortured wait since Skyrim is still played widely by many and especially after its fresh release by Bethesda just a couple of years back.
