Hartley Sawyer on board with Sue Dibny romance in the upcoming season of Flash

After an underwhelming response for season 5, The Flash is all set to return with season 6. Judging from season 5’s finale, the Flash might have something in store for Sue Dibny. The Flash’s Hartley Sawyer dropped in on some hints during his interview with Hollywood Life.

Hartley Sawyer, who portrays Ralph Dibny or the Elongated Man in The Flash, was excited about the possible storyline. It appears that there might be an ensuing romance between Ralph and Sue in the upcoming season. The last season name dropped “Dearbon” the maiden name of Ralph’s eventual wife. Ralph chanced across the name in the finale when he opened a case file dubbed Dearbon.

Sue has been a long time fan favourite for fans who follow the comics. She made her debut in the world of DC in 1960 as an administrator of Justice League. Sue was a constant throughout Ralph’s storyline in the comics. Thus, roping in Sue for the sixth season of The Flash would be a very real possibility.

Hartley Sawyer seems to be all on board with the idea of an ensuing romance between his character and Sue, “ There’s some stuff in the comics with Sue and Ralph where they go really, really deep into that (romance) and I don’t know when exactly we’re going to see and if we’re going to see Sue, but in terms of him getting out there and dating and falling for somebody, I would love to see how he takes that on. Maybe he gets his heart broken. Maybe he gets disappointed. How would he deal with that is something that’s really exciting and interesting to me. Now that he has more confidence because the family support of Team Flash has given him this confidence to kind of mature and grow into who he was always going to be.”

While there has been no official confirmation from the show’s creators, fans look forward to the storyline being developed in the new season.
