It’s been almost six years since Netflix premiered the first season of Orange Is The New Black in July 2013. Since then, we had five more seasons. And now soon, we’ll be having the seventh and the final season. It will air on Netflix on 26th July 2019.
The final season will focus on the life of Piper in the outside world as she struggles with her new life and her relationship with her wife, Alex, who’s still back in prison for four more years. It’ll be exciting to see what happens to their relationship.
What to expect from Orange is the New Black Season 7?
The sixth season saw the release of Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) from Litchfield prison and Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) reverting to her drug hustling ways. It’ll be intriguing to see their relation after Piper’s release. In a heart-wrenching scene, viewers saw Blanca being sent off to an immigration detention center.
On the one hand, Taystee got accused of a murder she didn’t commit while on the other Lorna going into early labor had the viewers sitting on the edge of their seats. Daya was seen being incapable of controlling her drug addiction. It looks like we’ll be having a season full of more intriguing emotions and conflicts.

The cast for the last season is more or less the same with Daddy and Madison from the sixth season also joining the crew.
The filming was wrapped up in February with the actors and crew members posting photographs from the sets on their Instagram accounts. Netflix also released a behind-the-scenes trailer on 22nd May which made us love the actors even more.
The six years long journey of OITNB will finally conclude soon. It’ll be exciting to see how all of the characters will end up. It surely will be a bittersweet farewell for the cast of the show as well as the fans.
