If there’s one thing Lionsgate does perfectly, it’s the Olympus Has Fallen franchise. The international trailer for the third installment of the Olympus Has Fallen, Angel has fallen, is out. It is everything an action movie desires: planes crashing, the white house burning, Gerard Butler on the run from the FBI after being falsely accused of attempting to kill the US President.
Plot:
Angel has fallen picks up where London has fallen is left off. The footage shows Mike Banning, played by Gerard Butler, running for his life. Thus, he tries to clear up his name after being wrongly framed for the murder of the President. However, in reality, Banning accompanied President Trumbull, on a fishing trip. There, a drone strike kills everyone but them.
After escaping from capture, the SAS agent has to fight against his own to outsmart and outrun the FBI to protect his country, his family, and his name. He is desperate to uncover the truth. So, Banning turns to unlikely people to help clear up his name. Out of them, one ends up being his woodland dwelling father, played by Nick Nolte.
Olympus has Fallen franchise has a highly successful venture. Olympus Has Fallen grossed more than 170 million dollars globally with a 70 million dollar budget. The sequel London Has Fallen had a reported budget of 60 million dollars and grossed over 205 million dollars. Naturally, our expectations for Angel Has Fallen are pretty high.
