Ever since Avatar was released, it blew all the box office records. It was a shock to all Marvel fans who thought nothing could surpass Marvel movies.
Avatar Still Reigns Over Avengers: End Game!
When people got to know about the release of Avengers: Infinity War, there were talks that it could surpass James Cameron’s, Avatar. James still holds the record of $2.778 billion, which Infinity War didn’t break. This year again, there were many speculations with some who guaranteed that Marvel’s Avengers: End Game would dethrone Cameron’s movie as the highest grossing movie.
But Marvel fans were disappointed again though Avengers: End Game broke Cameron’s Titanic record becoming the second topmost movie with $2.728 worldwide collection Avatar was released in December 2009. It’s been almost a decade, and it stills wear the crown which is a significant feat in itself. The 2009 blockbuster shocked everyone with its amazing CGI effects. It was like an out of world technology.
Release Date And Story:
For the sequel of Avatar, after a chain of delays, we finally have a release date. Avatar 2 which is speculated to be titled as Avatar: The Way Of Water. It will premiere on 27 December 2021.
Yes, guys! We have to wait for two more years. The story will continue with the life of Jake Sully and Neytiri along with their children. It will focus on the ocean world of Pandora. One can only imagine the kind of technology used for capturing the underwater scenes!
Upcoming Marvels Movies In 2021:
In 2021, Marvel will release 3 movies- Black Panther 2 in February, Shang- Chi in May and likely Doctor Strange 2 in November. It doesn’t seem like any of the upcoming Marvel movies will be able to break Avatar’s record.
Well, it’ll be intriguing to watch which movie breaks the record. Will it be Avatar 2 or a Marvel movie or some other? Will Marvel be able to come up with a film as successful the Avengers: End Game? For now, we can only wait for 2021.
