Selena Gomez, with a following of 152 million members happens to be the third most followed celeb on Instagram. She follows the line after Christiano Ronaldo with 170 million followers and Ariana Grande with 157 million followers.
The irony here is that Gomez revealed on Live with Kelly and Ryan that she does not happen to have the Instagram app on her phone. Moreover, she has her account on one of friend’s phone through which she logs in “periodically” to share photos or whatever else you do on IG.
Though she had been candid about the whole idea of social media for quite some time, this comes off as a surprise to many people.“I used to a lot, but I think it’s just become really unhealthy, I think personally, for young people including myself, to spend all of their time fixating on all these comments and letting this stuff in, and it was affecting me”, shared Selena talking to Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest when asked if she would be interacting with her millions of followers.
Back to you singer further admitted that social media platforms would make her depressed and make her feel not so good about herself looking at her body differently and along those lines.
She feels that social media was a threat to specifically to her generation. She further adds that the young boys and girls now lack their voice, thus making them prone to bullying.
