Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 7 has been officially renewed; it’s second season on NBC after being canceled by Fox. And we bring to you everything you need to know on the new season.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine, created by Michael Schur and Dan Goor, stars Andy Samberg as Detective Jake Peralta in the lead. Equally talented actors Melissa Fumero, Terry Crews, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Lo Truglio, and Andre Braugher play his surrounding detective squad. And Season 7 of the popular, acclaimed for its humor television show will see all of them return in a mind-blowing storyline.
The Episodes
It’s no secret that many of us are forever indebted to NBC, the last minute saviors who swooped in and saved the day last year. So we can’t complain much that Season 7 has only 13 episodes instead of Fox’s regular 22-23. Right?
We may get more than that, though. Season 6 was initially renewed for just 13 episodes too until NBC bumped it up to 18. That could happen again, especially since Season 6 did brilliantly for NBC, averaging 3.9 million total viewers in the “live plus seven days” Nielsen ratings.
A Release Date?
No official release date has been announced by NBC yet. We’re expecting the series to premiere in early 2020, one year after Season 6 premiered on Thursday, January 10, 2019. If NBC wants to keep the show a part of its Thursday comedy schedule, Thursday, January 9, 2020, is a great guess!
The Plot
Well, for one we want to see Jake and Amy have kids. No hints yet on whether that’s on the books although their debates in Season 6 could have been a prelude to an actual baby in Season 7.
Then there’s a bit of the who’s-the-commissioner-now mystery from Season 6 to be wrapped up. Holt and Terry’s fate at the Nine-Nine is also yet to be decided, but apart from that, the show could go in any direction at all.
We’re certainly waiting to see what the creators surprise us with.
