Why A Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Release Is Probably On The Books?

There’ve been a lot of false rumors skirting around vis a vis a possible PC version existing already. But all the LinkedIn and Reddit leaks, unfortunately, turned out to be fake.

Strauss Zelnick was asked about the chances of Red Dead Redemption 2 coming to PC in an investor call in November 2018. “In terms of ongoing releases, Rockstar will talk about what their intentions are going forward with regard to all upcoming products and that the same would hold true for platform,” he said.

Doesn’t reveal much, right? But in another call in June 2019, Zelnick gave us some hope. “There is no downside to releasing the game on PC,” he commented. Moreover, GTA5 did extremely well on the PC. It sold over 90 million copies in total. After that impressive feat, it’s likely that RDR2 will take a shot at PC sales as well.

A Release Date

We’re still waiting on official word from Rockstar for a release date. But Rockstar games usually take 6 months on average to drop on PC. GTA4 took seven months and Laire Noire six. GTA5 arrived five months after its PS4 release. So if we’re doing the math, the summer of 2019 is a great guess. Although, we haven’t heard anything yet which may be a sign of a longer wait.
