It has been nearly 9 years since BBC aired the first episode named The Study in Pink that helmed the detective stories of Sherlock and his fellow sidekick Dr. Watson. The show created by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat was critically acclaimed by critics and received a heck of positive reviews for the direction, storyline, and performances.
But now the show has been held for a long time. The Final Problem aired like two years ago back in 2017. Neither the creators have canceled the show nor hinted about the production. So, it’s obvious that we couldn’t see our boys operating from 221B Baker Street.
The re-union thriller with Sherlock’s sister wasn’t loved by the critics and fans all around. The Final Problem looked like a happy ending with the Holmes family being back together, and Watson narrowing his differences with Sherlock. The show’s co-creator Steven Moffat while addressing to RadioTimes said, “Nobody has ever closed the door on the private detective, we just say the same issue all the time and it gets quoted other ways. we haven’t got an immediate set up, however I might stay stunned, given the collective enthusiasm we’ve got for it, if we have a tendency to didn’t sleep with once more.”
Also, Steven Moffat made a Facebook Post regarding Sherlock’s future, “Sherlock’s future – for those of you asking, it’s definitely the end. Of Chapter One,” Moffat wrote. “Dr Watson is now Doyle’s brave widowman and sherlock holmes has become the wise and humane version of the most run of the stories (we’ve targeted, so far, on the cold Holmes of the first days.) Whether we ever get to Chapter 2 – our boys consciously living the myth and battling wrong-doers – rather depends on our 2 stars. I might be slightly stunned if we never created it once more. however I have been stunned before.”
The creators and actors are confident that there will be a new remarkable story waiting to air on TV, but also they are sure that this is happening eventually not anytime sooner.
