When Bethesda Game Studios’s director, Todd Howard, said the words “Elder Scrolls 6” on-stage, we knew that the rumors prevailing about its release were no lies.
After such a long wait, Elder Scrolls 6 is finally coming. With every interpreted twitch of Todd Howard’s eyebrows serving as a clue, the great news is: it is finally confirmed.
Eventually, people started guessing that the release date will be out only when Howard himself announces. But before showing us the teaser for Elder Scrolls 6, Howard showed another trailer of Starfield. Fans were entirely unaware of Starfield, but we knew that it was coming before the Elder Scrolls 6.
“Starfield is a unique pull-off that we’ve spent years thinking about and working on. We’re incredibly excited about it,” said Howard. After that, he added, “But we’re also building toward the game after that, and it’s the one you fans keep asking about.”
What is the real reason behind the delay of ‘The Elder Scrolls 6’?
Hence, Bethesda would be releasing The Elder Scrolls 6 after Starfield ships off. On this, Howard backed that up saying that while The Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production, Starfield is currently playable. This makes Elder Scrolls 6’s release date sometime in the early 2020s, and the fans know, that’s a long wait.
This is what Bethesda’s VP of marketing Pete Hines had to say on the announcement of the game even though Starfield is the main focus:
“Yes, we’re making this game called Starfield and here’s what it is. And yes, we’re going to make Elder Scrolls 6, but we have these other two games to develop and make first.’ It’s just so that folks have a better sense of where we are and where we’re headed.”
During a PAX East panel in March of 2019, Howard said there wouldn’t be any new reveals about the game at E3 2019. He also added that it’s going to be a long wait.
