Netflix has recently confirmed that Dead To Me is going to be back for its second season. After the first season starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini ended on a major cliffhanger, the show immensely gained viewers.
Released this May, Dead To Me became instant hit amongst the black comedy genre. Also, with Applegate and Cardellini’s extravagant acting, it remained in top viewers list.
When will Season 2 be released?
After the quick renewal and smooth scoring, second season is expected to stream next year in Summer.
How did Season 1 end?
Though the show fared well on its own, the clever cliffhanger allowed us to indulge more. And Netflix is clever. The seeming greater response from the second season made it quickly allow for its renewal.
Season 1 ended with Jen and Judy standing over the dead body of Judy’s ex-fiancé Steve. And things will definitely go for a roller coaster ride.
But how long will the second season be? And will it be able to hold the viewership it gained? It seems that Jen had killed Steve but the show’s creator offered something else to ponder about.
Liz Feldman says that the ending “is not exactly what you think”, and that “Netflix will have to order a season two for us all to find out” whether or not Jen killed Steve.
“There’s an evening of the score and there’s a rebalancing that will take place and almost, in some ways, a role reversal,” Feldman told The Hollywood Reporter. “This show will always be a show that explores the dark sides and the light sides of grief, loss, forgiveness and friendship. So suffice to say, there will be more darkness.”
Since season 1, the episodes twisted and turned and offered great insight on how things could change easily. With good friendships and hard lives, Dead To Me is a must watch and definitely deserves the second season.
