An American model, Bella Hadid, recently uploaded a picture showing feet to the planes of UAE and Saudi Arabia, and now she has removed such image and apologized for the same by saying it was an honest mistake.
An American model, Bella Hadid, is in the news for posting anything Instagram post. In that post, she is showing her feet towards three planes. Three out of which two planes are of UAE and Saudi Arabia, and it is an insult in Saudi Arabia and UAE culture.
After this post, everyone is criticizing her for disrespecting UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Many Saudi natives and UAE natives have outrages against the picture on social media. They want her banned from entering in their countries.
Many people are trolling Hadid and her family members on social media. They are harassing them by commenting on Hadid and her family members’ social media accounts.
After this, Dubai Mall was requested to take a stand by removing the pictures of Hadid from the mall. Then the Dubai Mall tweeted,
“We ensure that our nation and region’s cultural sensitivities are respected. We have brought the matter to the attention of the retailers concerned to take appropriate steps.”
After this, the brands such as Christian Dior removed the pictures of Hadid from the campaigns.
Emirates Mall also tweeted after the incident :
“with a model for one of the brands at Mall of the Emirates is in no way associated with the mall.” [Hadid’s post] does not reflect our values”.
Bella Hadid’s response:
After that, Hadid removed the picture and uploaded a lengthy apology to her social media in both English and Arabic. And she expressed that the post has “nothing to do with politics,” and it was an “honest mistake.”
And she also stated the following statement:
“I would never want my posts or platform to be used for hate against anyone, especially those of my own beautiful and powerful heritage,” she wrote. “I love and care so much about the Muslim and Arab side of my family, as well as my brothers and sisters throughout the world.”
And she also added that she did not notice the planes in the background. She never had any intention to disrespect the Saudi Arabia and UAE.
