Bella Hadid recently posted a picture on her Instagram story which people found offensive.
Bella Hadid posted a picture of her shoe on the glass of an international airport with the words, ‘anotha one’. People found it offensive because her shoe was facing three planes with the flag of Saudi Arabia and Emirates. They took offence because they thought she was disrespecting the respective countries.
People misread the situation and felt offended and even went as far as to say that they would boycott the brands she represents. They blamed the model for the ill thought out photo, because in some cultures because showing people the sole of your shoe indicates that they are the dirt beneath your feet.
Hadid has issued an apology on her social media in English and Arabic and has stated that she didn’t mean to offend anyone with her post. Bella Hadid’s father is of Palestinian descent and her mother s Dutch. She sincerely apologized and said she had no intent of insulting the countries and she respects her Muslim origin.

Even after the apology and the misread situation, people still don’t believe that it was an honest mistake. The hashtag #BellaHadidisRacist is trending on Twitter and people are throwing away posters of model and posting videos about it. They are going a little overboard and even writing letters to the brand and asking them to boycott her.

This isn’t the first time Bella Hadid is facing backlash for a racist post, she previously posted offensive tweets using the ‘n-word’ constantly. The Hadid sisters are known to be racist. Gigi was removed from the Victoria Secret show because she posted a video that was offensive to the Chinese people.

People are sympathetic towards her because the entire situation has blown completely out of proportion and people are reacting very harshly towards something that wasn’t meant to offend anyone. She even issued a second apology but it seems like there’s no coming back from this.
