Halo Infinite: All we need to know

Many games and upcoming projects were shown at E3 2019, but one stood out. Halo Infinity. Fans of the franchise waiting for the update so badly, updates regarding this title in the series.

At the event, fans were shown a 5-minute extended trailer of the game where we witnessed the return of The Master Chief.

The trailer shows an engineer who is on a spaceship discover the Chief floating in space. After he restores the Chief to normal, he tells the Chief that they lost as the Chief looks on at a destroyed loop. The trailer also gave hints at the return of Cortana, but it is unclear if she is back to normal or not.

In a recent interview with IGN, Bonnie Ross, head of 343 Industries, clarified that this installment would be a soft reboot to a franchise.
“We’re calling it a ‘spiritual reboot,'” Ross said, “That’s kind of how we talk about it.” She added.

The game is going to run on the new Slipspace engine. 343 Industries has emphasized on the new engine very much. The new engine enabled the dev team to work “more with Halo.”
“So it was a huge investment. A bigger investment than we’ve ever done,” She said, referring to the engine. “That engine [the previous one] is, gosh, eighteen, nineteen years old? So when you think about where we are today, we needed to redo it pretty much, and I’m proud of what we have now, but it took a lot of work to get there.” She added.

It is also being speculated that the game will also bring back the Forge mode of earlier titles. It has been confirmed that Halo: Infinity will be the launch title of Microsoft’s Project Scarlett.

Apart from this, less is known about the project as both Microsoft and 343 have successfully avoided spilling any secret.

Halo Infinity is being developed by 343 Industries and will be published by Xbox Game Studios. It will be playable on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and Project Scarlett. It is scheduled to be released in 2020.
