With the end of the third season, Krysten Ritter confirmed the end of her role as Jessica Jones as well.
Jessica Jones third season came out on 14th June this year and had been streaming on Netflix. The American web series Jessica Jones was an outcome of the Marvel and Netflix collaboration. The show is based on a darker Marvel comics character of the same name. Although Jessica is not like other Marvel superheroes, the show was a hit. Its first season premiered in 2015 followed by another season in 2018 and now a third season came out this year.
The third season has been concluded to be the last season of Jessica Jones, as Netflix has canceled the show for another season, just like it has done with few other Marvel-Netflix series which includes “The Defenders,” “Daredevil” and “The Punisher.” Hence, it seems to be that the Marvel-Netflix collaboration has now come to an end. However, the fans are expecting that the show might be revived on some other platform.
Krysten Ritter on Jessica Jones’ end:
But recently actress Krysten Ritter, who plays the role of Jessica in the series has somehow confirmed that the character of Jessica Jones has been wrapped for her. Which means even if the show revives we would not be watching Jessica’s role played by Krysten.
During an interview with the TVLine, Krysten expressed that she does not want a season 4 for Jessica Jones. “Do I think I’ll play her again? I don’t think so,” Ritter said. “I feel like I’ve played her, you know? I feel really good about it. I feel good about closing the door.”
She also admitted that she is happy with the ending of the show. Melissa Rosenberg, the creator of the series, agrees with Krysten as well. Thus, we should also accept that the show has come to an end.
