Other thanĀ Woody, Buzz, Bo Peep and other beloved characters from Andy’s toy box Toy Story 4, also features some new faces and voices.
There is Tony Hale, who played the role of Forky. A hopelessly neurotic spork that was crafted as a toy by Bonnie and Then there is Duke Caboom, a gung-ho Canadian daredevil who’s voiced by Keanu Reeves.
Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley told us that to find their Caboom. He performed a blind audio test with the producers Jonas Rivera and Mark Nielsen. The casting department played the audio recordings of line readings from all the actors. But in a certain way so that the filmmakers didn’t get to know which voice belongs to which actor.
“With the first one, we said, ‘Wait, stop! Who is that?’ And it was Keanu,” Cooley recalled when asked. It was Tuesday at the movie’s Hollywood premiere at the El Capitan theater.
It was almost during lunch that Reeves came up with the idea for Caboom’s signature posing. “He climbed on a table and was striking poses in the middle of the atrium, and we thought, that is Duke Caboom!” Said the producer.
Tim Allen, who voiced Buzz Lightyear,Ā compared Reeves’ performance as Duke Caboom to Michael Keaton’s as Ken the doll inĀ Toy Story 3, therefore adding, “Keanu jumps it up a notch. oy Story 4 would be Ā out in theaters on June 21
