The search for the gaming Youtuber Desmond Amofah a.k.a Etika has come to a close as NYPD confirms that his body has been found. The 29-year-old Amofah was reported missing six days ago.

Deputy Commissioner for Public Information said, “The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing person within the confines of the 84 Precinct.”The circumstances are as follows. ‘It has been reported to police that the missing was last heard from on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at approximately 2000 hours by phone. “The missing is described as follows: Amofah, Desmond, aka Etika. ‘Male, Black, 29 years old, approximately 6’0″, approximately 160lbs, brown eyes, black hair. Last seen wearing a white t-shirt.”
His belongings were found on Manhattan Bridge on Monday by police. They found his wallet, laptop bag, his Nintendo Switch, cell phone and some change of clothes.
Amofah, followed by over 800,000 subscribers, became recognized for playing and streaming Nintendo games. He had worried his followers by speaking of suicide, even suspended his Youtube account leaving behind a worrisome message, the police broke into his house when his suicidal thoughts were reported.

In his last video on June 19th, which has since been removed from YouTube, he walked down the streets and talked about how sorry he was for pushing people away. He says, “It was a fun life. I had a great time. It was great. But for it to be cut so short—it’s fuxxxd.” He also spoke about how “consuming” social media platforms are.
Kotaku reporter said in an article about the then missing Amofah about how they went to meet his friend to talk, “I met up with and talked to one of Amoah’s close friends in a park, and there, we encountered a huge Nashville church group, who prayed for Amofah.”
