It doesn’t come as a surprise when we get all warm and happy seeing Maci Bookout’s relationship with husband Taylor McKinney. The two of them had a roller coaster ride in the Teen Mom franchise. And throughout Maci’s troubles, Taylor was with her.
During a recent interview with E! News, Maci reveals her unbreakable bond with husband. And how he supported her through all her ups and downs. That was definitely an ‘awe’ moment in her show. Bookout opened about her husband’s bitterness towards her ex, Ryan Edwards and explained how things don’t turn out the way you expect.
For Maci, she didn’t believe she found someone like Taylor, who held her and supported her despite her troublesome ex. Ryan Edwards served three months in county jail on an open heroin possession warrant and Bookout revealed how this has affected her family.
âTaylor is very protective and so, knowing that Bentley is being affected and his wife, me, Iâm being affected by this, I think he was very guarded and didnât understand,â Bookout explained as her Teen Mom OG co-star, Cheyenne Floyd, sat at her side.
Bentley, Maci’s 10 year old son whose father is Ryan Edwards, accordingly hides his emotions and that deeply worries Maci. She suspects sadly that her son is burying his trauma of his dad’s arrest deep inside.
Maci’s worries about her son following Edwards’ arrest:
âI think he handles it well on the outside,â Bookout told. âNo 10-year-old should handle some things like this this well. That scares me. He doesnât know how to face these feelings, which means heâs burying them somewhere. He doesn’t have the tools to handle this on his own in a healthy way. It would be ignorant of us to think he does.”
She’s glad that her husband Taylor is always there, even during this phase of his stepson’s denial and suspected emotional trauma. Bookout’s story continues on Teen Mom OG which airs weekly.
