Umbrella Academy has begun filming its much anticipated second season


    Umbrella Academy which has enthralled fans with its first season is all set to return on Netflix. The streaming service confirmed that the show would be renewed for a second season. The announcement sent fans into a frenzy on social media.

    The fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the second season. There has been no official confirmation from Netflix about the dates. The first season of Umbrella Academy ended on a cliff hanger. So, fans are looking forward to seeing what the second season brings to the table.

    The comic book series that Umbrella Academy is adapted from is created and written by Gerard Way. Gerard Way is the lead vocalist of My Chemical Romance. Gabriel Ba illustrated the comic books. The comic book series, like the show, was received well by the critics.

    Much of the cast from the first season is expected to feature in the second season of the Umbrella Academy. Season 1 featured Robert Sheehan, Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castaneda, Justin Min, Aidan Gallagher, and Emmy Raver Lampman.

    Mary J Blige and Cameron Britton also featured on the show. Reports also suggest that the voice actors from the first season will also be carried forward.

    Season 2 of Umbrella Academy shall have Steve Blackman return as the executive producer. Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba would serve as the co-executive producers.

    As confirmed by Netflix, Season 2 of Umbrella Academy shall have 10 episodes. Filming for the second season started in June. Netflix released a video on its Twitter account confirming the same.
