Notably, the death was not on a sudden note as Etika was found missing on 20th June only after releasing a video that shows some suicidal intent. The gloomy eight-minute video was posted on the deceased secondary YouTube channel, TR1Iceman around 36 hours before his disappearance. Though the video was shunned from the streaming platform, several viewers re-uploaded the same, which catches the eyes of many.

In the video, he sounds sorry as he said “I’m sorry for leaving such a stained legacy,” He went on as “I hope that my story maybe helps to make YouTube a better place in the future where people know boundaries and limits and how far things should go.”

The Sad Demise

On Saturday NYPD reached to the belongings of the YouTuber. They found them at Manhattan Bridge, as informed by the New York Post. Later, on Tuesday, the respective police department took to Twitter to announce the demise of the blogger. The tweet reads as “We regret to inform that Desmond Amofah aka Etika has been found deceased.” The NY law enforcement officials claimed that Etika’s body was found in the East River.

Behavior That Concerned Many

The world has lost something worthy as Etika with his talent had garnered a substantial following. That love for him was witnessed when the social media world was searching for him after his disappearance was confirmed. Also, the number of thanks to helping many by his YouTube channel was all over the social media.

However, these followers have seen a strange behavior of Etika from around ten months that concerned the YouTube community to a different level. While violating Youtube’s policy in October 2018,  he uploaded pornography to his channel. In an obvious revert, the platform deactivated his channel, and to this, Amofah replied as “time to die.”

Then in April, he live-streamed a standoff with NY police officers. Meanwhile, Kotaku reported that he was taken to a Brooklyn hospital for his mental issues after the standoff.  Some of his fellow streamers and ex-girlfriend Alice Pika reportedly informed that later in May he assaulted a police officer. Eventually again for his mental issues, he was admitted to a local hospital.
