Marvel’s new movie The Eternals is set to begin production in August-September, and it’s cast can’t seem to stop expanding. Salma Hayek, the Frida actress, is now being considered to join the superstar cast. And we’ve got all the updates on this latest development.
Selena Hayek’s Marvel Debut Alongside Angelina Jolie
Negotiations with the board are in progress right now. But if finalized, the actress will be joining Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden in Marvel’s upcoming movie The Eternals.
Selena Hayek is best known for her role in the 2002 film Frida as Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. She also starred in neo-Western Desperado in 1995, and the action horror From Dusk till Dawn in 1996.
There’s no word on what she would play in The Eternals yet. But fans think that Hayek could play either Elysius or Thena, both major characters that haven’t been filled up again. In the comics, Elysius an Eternal created by computers in Titan. And Thena is a cosmic power wielding scholar and warrior from Greece.
Both roles sound perfect if you ask me!
The Rest Of The Stars
The Eternals will also be starring Angelina Jolie as Sersi with Richard Madden from Game Of Thrones as Ikaris, her love interest. Kumail Nanjiani from Silicon Valley and Ma Dong-Seok from Train to Busan are also part of the crew.
Set to release in 2021, The Eternals is about the Eternals (created by Jack Kirby in 1976), a race of ancient human beings created a million years ago by the cosmic entities known as the Celestials as a result of genetic experiments.
