Billy Drago, an American actor, died this week on 24th of June, 2019 Monday. According to the sources, his death was due to the complications from a stroke.
Billy Drago who would have been 73 this 18th July was an American TV and film actor. Drago was born in Hugoton, Kansas. His real name is William Eugene Burrows Jr. He took his grandmother’s maiden name to avoid any confusion from any other actor for his performances. He was first seen in No Other Love as Brian, a TV movie in 1979.
WIFE AND CHILDREN
In 1980, Billy Drago was married to Silvana Gallardo who was not only an American actress but also an acting coach and writer. She came up with the “Gallardo Method” of acting which suggested that there are no boundaries or limits there is simply The Art of Infinite Possibility. She started teaching in New York to the people who had given up on acting. Drago and Silvana had two sons out which Darren E. Burrows is an actor who lived in Ozark with his four sons and wife. Silvana Gallardo died in 2012, and the reason is still not known.
DRAGO BEFORE STEPPING IN ACTING
Before all this, when he was young after passing high school, he worked as a journalist of Associated Press and later a famous voice on the radio which gave him away to Canada and then NYC. He worked as a stuntman at Boothill in Dodge City, Kansas. After graduating from the University of Kansas, he took acting as his career.
Drago worked in many movies and television. His famous work is Al Capone’s henchman Frank Nitti in Brian De Palma’s 1987 film The Untouchables. Other than this he played the role of villain in Clint Eastwood’s western Pale Rider which is still remembered as his renowned works.
Billy Drago’s previous works were in 2014 in The Dance as the stranger and in Low Down with John Hawkes, Elle Fanning and Glenn Close. He died in LA, California after contributing his 35 years in film and TV industry.
