Disney just released a new trailer for its Fox Animation feature film, Spies In Disguise, ahead of its scheduled debut on Christmas this year. And the first look of the voice cast, starring Tom Holland and Will Smith has got us all in a frenzy.
The plot features Super spy Lance Sterling and scientist Walter Beckett- exact opposites.
Lance is smooth, suave and debonair. Walter is not. But when events take an unexpected turn, Walter and Lance suddenly have to rely on each other in a whole new way. And if this odd couple can’t learn to work as a team, the entire world is in peril.
The trailer features some super-fast moving graphics, an excellent job on animations. There’s some funny Sterling vs. Beckett dynamic with the latter’s cute effects and exaggeration laced voice annoying the prim scientist. And then there’s the big finish, Tom Holland, turning Will Smith as Sterling into … wait for it… an actual pigeon. That’s right! Gear up for comedy, everyone, and check out the trailer below:
Will Smith voices Lance Sterling, the spy, and Tom Holland voices a scientist named Walter Beckett. Ben Mendelsohn, Karen Gillan, Rashida Jones, DJ Khaled, and Masi Oka also have voice roles in the comedy.
Spies in Disguise is directed by Troy Quane and Nick Bruno who previously worked in the art and animation departments for The Peanuts Movie and Ice Age: Collision Course. The film is based on the 2009 film Pigeon: Impossible from Lucas Martell, with scriptwriter Brad Copeland who also wrote Ferdinand.
Catch Spies In Disguise in theatres everywhere on Christmas Day! And in the meantime, enjoy this super cute new poster:
