Makoto’s movies always tend to remove distance and differences between the characters in an unusual magical way. His upcoming film Tenki no Ko: Weathering for you has an exciting and unique storyline. It revolves around a high school freshman Hodaka Morishima who moves to Tokyo. He meets a girl named Hina Amano, that has a strange superpower to stop the rain and clear the sky.

The first teaser for Shinkai’s upcoming movie Weathering for you was released on April 10, 2019, following which the trailer has dropped on 28th May. The movie will officially release on 19th July this year. GKIDS has licensed the film for North America and will give it a theatrical run this year before the screening with subtitles and an English dub that will be releasing in early 2020.
The movie is written and directed by Makoto himself and is produced by CoMix Wave Films starring Kotaro Daigo and Nana Mori (as the voices of the characters). And not to forget RADWIMPS, the famous band in Japan is composing new songs and music for this movie as they did in Your name.
Like other movies of Makoto, the animation for this one also looks incredibly beautiful and detailed, especially the movements of the raindrops controlled by Hina. The overall visuals and music of the movie are tempting the anime lover to watch the film.
