A solar eclipse was occurs when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun, which blocks sunlight and sends the planet into darkness. Millions flooded to places from where they can watch the moon blocking out the sun over Chile and Argentina. The eclipse was only seen across the southern Pacific Ocean and South America whereas other people from around the world tuned to watch it on NASA TV.
The first place in the American continent to witness the Total Solar Eclipse were. The Total Solar Eclipse lasted for 2 to 2.5 minutes for people who placed themselves in right areas of the continent. For the rest of the continent, it was a partial eclipse.  The best views of the Total Solar Eclipse was seen in  Chile’s Atacama desert north of the coastal city of La Serena, where a lack of humidity helps in having a clear sky.
During the Total Solar Eclipse the temperature dropped, many stars and planets appeared due to the dark sky.
Many cities saw a massive influx of visitors who wanted to watch the Total Solar Eclipse. The town of La Serena saw 300,000 visitors, forcing the local water company to increase output, service gas stations to store extra fuel for later. Police and health services were also reinforced.
Many people were on their toes to find a place from where they can watch this astronomical wonder. The next solar eclipse of Earth will be on 14 December 2020, and it can also be viewed from Chile and Argentina, though from different places.
