The legal feud between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is entering into a new phase where ‘The Deuce’ actor James Franco is also involved. A surveillance video of the elevator of the ex-couple’s former apartment in downtown Los Angeles has emerged as a new twist in the feud. This video is something that can lead to a subpoena to Franco. The video came into view on July 2 when The Blast revealed about it.
A Sneek Peek Into The Footage
The video is showing a woman, claimed to be Heard taking the elevator in which a man, identified as Franco boarded after some time. The Blast that obtained the footage claimed that the video showed Heard getting close to the actor. Even later, they rested their heads against one another. The face of the woman and man duo was warded off from the camera. This is the reason it is not confirmed yet that they were Heard and Franco in real or not.
The video footage obtained is of the very next day of Heard and Depp’s marriage-ending fight in 2016.
Why A Subpoena to James Franco?
Reportedly, after witnessing the video, Depp is going to request Franco to reveal in front of the court that whether there were bruises on the Aquaman actress’ face or not. The Pirates of the Caribbean actor wants so as his ex-wife to whom he officially gets parted in January 2017, alleged that he left bruises on her face in the 2016’s fight. To this allegation, only Depp has filed a $50 million defamation case against her in March 2019.
Though we do not have any words from the couple but their lawyer spoke about the video. Depp’s lawyer Adam Waldman said that “We are interested in James Franco and Elon Musk as fact witnesses because we have evidence they are men who saw Amber Heard’s face in the days and nights between when she claimed Mr. Depp smashed her in the face on May 21 and when she went to court with painted on ‘bruises’ to obtain a temporary restraining order on May 27.”
Interestingly, the Tesla CEO was also in a relationship with the actress for a short while.
Heard’s Attorney’s Clarification For the Video
The footage that emerged as a kind of evidence was claimed as a “bogus story” by Heard’s attorney Eric George. To Fox News, he stated that “This bogus story is just another lame attempt by Johnny Depp and his team to spread deliberately misleading information through the tabloid media so that he can continue to attack and abuse his ex-wife.”
Further, he clarified the video’s incident as “Amber Heard, and James Franco once lived in the same apartment complex and were simply taking an elevator at the same time Period. Johnny Depp and his team have been trying and failing to place a salacious story based on this irrelevant footage for weeks. It’s pathetic,”
The couple was married in 2015, and that is for a short while only. They get separated in 2016 and get divorced in 2017. And in the recent past, we have seen them hurling allegations against each other for one or another reason.
