Flash, Supergirl & Arrow will die in Arrowverse’s ‘Infinite Earths’ crossover to premiere this December

The CW Arrowverse’s ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ crossover is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated events in the history of television, and rightly so.

The crossover was teased throughout the spans of Arrow Season Seven, The Flash Season Five, and Supergirl Season Four, all of which concluded this May.

A video compiling all the teasers referring to the event can be seen below.

The event will serve as an interregnum of sorts for DC’s television properties and aid the company’s executives in their crusade to reform the current small-screen universe by shedding their reliance on older characters so it can move forward.

Of course, the event’s original comic-book counterpart helped DC to achieve a similar goal, by merging their multiple dimensional realities into one and pave the way for future landmarks.

It remains to be seen whether the television iteration will fulfill the same purpose, or, as some fans suggest, split our current reality into multiple pieces.

Much speculation has also been fostered to determine whether any of our beloved protagonists will be killed during the saga, seeing how such a somber and brooding fate was certainly handed to a number of characters in the comic’s twelve volumes – most notably The Flash and Supergirl.

The CW Network seems to have other plans, though.

Arrow’s latest season ended on a cliffhanger of sorts, when, in the final episode, Oliver seemingly sacrificed his remaining life by trading it to save those of his aforementioned companions, who he deemed necessary to keep balance on Earth.

While this might seem like an obvious conclusion, the entire telling of events was shrouded in vagaries, making fans question whether it was simply creating stakes that the crossover could rectify, but everything remains simple conjecture at this point.

The ‘Crisis of Infinite Earths’ will be a five-episode saga that premieres this December.
